Fortaleza is the capital of the state of Ceará, in northeastern Brazil. The city is known for its beaches, with red cliffs, palm trees, dunes and lagoons. The city’s folkloric traditions can be seen in dance performances at Teatro José de Alencar, an art nouveau-style building inaugurated in 1910. Another architectural highlight is the Metropolitan Cathedral, in neo-gothic style.
Fortaleza is also famous for its Beach Park. An amazing amusement water park. You can stay at a hotel downtown or at a resort at Porto das Dunas Beach (which was our choice this time – great). The perfect program in case you are traveling with kids, or if you just want to let the inner child inside each of us, come out!
An interesting thing is that in times of chaos in the world flight services; mainly in USA and Europe. With flights being delayed due to lack of personal working for airlines and long airport lines; this scenario is not to be seen in Brazil.
We flew from Rio de Janeiro International Airport, direct to Fortaleza.., a 3 hour flight! Non stop. The same time it takes in case you are flying from Sao Paulo or from Brasilia. Flights were punctual, no delays. Excellent service, excellent brand new aircraft, a Boeing 737; Gol Airlines.
